Making Money from Home with Blogging
I think to start my own blog. I was not expecting it makes me stinking rich, but what are the chances that I can quit my job and make a living just by blogging are? I see all these success stories, but how much money can I really do?
If you are passionate about a topic and you have decent writing skills, blogs could certainly be an alternative for your career. The short answer is yes, you can make a very good living even-writing online. Moreover, the harsh reality is most of the millions of bloggers today do not make enough to support just with their blogs. Let’s take a look at what’s involved.
Blogging as an occupation
There are two main approaches for professional blogs: You can be an independent blogger or employee of an established company or site (as we are here at Lifehacker), or you can create your own blog from scratch.
Get a job as a professional blogger is much easier to start from scratch with your own blog. Those who get a job with an established company can make a good living out of the blue.
The configuration and monetization (ugh) your own blog, however, requires much more work, such as starting your own business. There is no real career or career expectations based. Some people have claimed hundreds of thousands of dollars to write their blogs (or sold their blogs to millions), while others have yet to make a hundred of them.
Should I start my own business?
I’m tired of the rat race and have been dreaming about starting my own …
The truth is it is not so easy to carve your space on the web and make a name for himself as a blogger today as it was when blogging was new. And the time it takes to build your audience to the point where it is a success. (The most successful blogs of several million dollars today started around 2005 or earlier). Therefore, it is certainly not something that you can get rich quick, although many people do not work on their full-time blogging.
How much can you earn
Bloggers salaries vary widely. This report shows Glassdoor ranging from $ 19K to $ 79K per year for the title “blogger”, while other sources say that 14% of bloggers pay on average $ 24K per year (or $ 33K win for bloggers to ‘business). Similarly, independent bloggers can do anything for less than $ 10 to a position of $ 100 or more for a relatively short time post.
Regarding managing your own blog, a survey of 1,000 Blogging.com bloggers in 2012 revealed that 17% are able to maintain their lifestyle or support their families with their blogs, while 81% did the same $ 100 blogs. The other 2% spend less than 2 hours per day, but blogs earning over $ 150K (typical Tim Ferriss).
Another study, this 1500 ProBlogger readers who said they are trying to make money by blogging, it was found that 9% earn between $ 1,000 and $ 10,000 per month and 4% earn over $ 10,000 per month. But the vast majority earn less than $ 3.50 per day. (Most of these blogs were aged less than two years, however.)
A blog in itself is not really a business that is rather a platform for other sources of income. His only content should not make money. Instead, you must obtain advertisers, the sale of services such as consulting or speaking, affiliated using marketing for a percentage of sales links people click on your blog, or perhaps offer products such as eBooks or premium content effectively generate income. ProBlogger has an excellent post on the different ways to make money.
Success did not come quickly or easily
Do not be discouraged, but just know that it could take months or even years, to start living with your blog. Consider what Amy Lynn Andrews project and Angela Coupon blogger tips:
I always tell people that I worked for 8 months in my blog before receiving a single check! You must ensure that you are committed and passionate about what they are blogging about. Focus first on the quality of content and circulation. And if you need money … like now? Do not start a blog. Get a day job.
I would suggest that you give at least six months before the income start shooting. And yet, most likely, it will be the coffee money.
If you do this on the side, it is also possible to store a substantial amount of money, perhaps enough for you to finally do it full time.
Earn extra money on the side, even if you do not have free time
One of the biggest obstacles or complaints people have about starting a side business or …
If not, there are still reasons to jump on the blog and improve their chances of getting a job that simply share their passion. Alli Worthington puts it this way:
Use blogs to protect against unemployment
It is okay if you started your blog because you love to write, but if you are waiting on your blog to make you rich, it will not.
Because it is a blog and not a business.
Sometimes I think we have only permission to do things we love without having to make a living at it. So I’ll give you permission. I say it is normal for you to have a website that gives you an outlet for your creativity, you can talk about things that are important to you and allows you to stay in touch with family and friends. You should not try to monetize their joy.
