Microwaving Corn With Husk

As a girl from the Midwest, born and raised, I love my corncob. What I do not like, however, it is standing on a pot of boiling water waiting ears to cook a hot summer day. Boiling also always felt to me like a lot of work for what amounts to a few minutes of actual cooking time.

Intro: the microwave. Since we talked about this method, the microwave oven has become my favorite tool to quickly cook a few ears of corn for a summer evening dinner.

sweet summer corn is sweet enough to eat directly on the ground – it really just need to be cooked. For the method of microwave, let the corn in their husks. This helps trap heat and moisture, cooking beans evenly. Furthermore, fine, it’s easier peeling ears.

After microwaving, be sure to inform your ears rest for a few minutes before taking your shells. You could just feel warm to the touch on the outside, but are seriously hot inside. Wait until the silks and the upper leaves are sufficiently cool before peeling again. Remember, the whole point of microwaving corn is not breaking a sweat!
