Typing the é in Pokémon Go
If you have to Google / copy / paste every time you want to write a word with an accented character, we have good news for you: there is an easier way. Read on for the fastest way to write these letters on Mac, Windows and Linux.
MacOS is easier: just hold down the key you want to accent (eg, e) and options to emphasize that appear on some pop-over menu: E, E, E, and so on. Most phone keypads, iOS and Android, also work this way.
In Windows, the best option is to allow “Show button touch pad” on the taskbar. Then, when you want to write an accented letter, press the button and hold the letter on the keyboard. The video above shows how it looks.
On Linux systems, the fastest way to write these letters is a key editorial. After playing this special key, then type the letter you want to accent, and then a character corresponding to the accent. To set this in Ubuntu (if it is not already), Go to text input parameters, and then keyboard settings. There, you can choose the button to set as its key wording.
I use the Menu key, so when I want to write the address in Pokémon, I just hit the menu key and then (in any order) the letter “e” and an apostrophe. To explore other options Compose key as ¼ and ¢ and ♫, check out this sheet of useful tricks.
