Unclogging Toilet with Chicken Dish Washer

Ignignokt reader recently sent a tip to say that you could just open the hot water in another part of your home to get rid of an unpleasant obstruction. Although I could not verify this, I stumbled upon something so good in my research: dishwasher soap and a bucket of hot water may be far enough. The Art of Manliness has more information:
Add a few cups of hot water in the toilet bowl before starting to dive. Then poured into hot water, let it sit for a few minutes. If not, the heat helps break the, uh, stuff. This unclog the toilet with the plunger much, much easier. The heat of the hot water can sometimes break the lock without falling, so this could be a good tactic to use if a clog a toilet in a guest house and does not want to face the embarrassment of asking a piston .
Also, try adding a bit of dish detergent to the mix. Soap can help break the shoe, too.
